The increase in the maximum retirement insurance premiums and death benefits for non-productive people (not gainfully employed)
As per January 1, 2012 there has been a significant increase in the maximum amount of retirement insurance premiums and those in the event of death of the breadwinner / pension / compensation for non-productive people. So far, it has amounted to 10'300 CHF per year and may currently equal up to 23'750 CHF per year. The scale, which so far has reached to the property value of CHF 4 million (including the capitalized disability income), is stretched to 8.3 million.
Contributions of non-productive people must be paid by individuals without any income (wages). Contributions shall be raised by property and a 20-times income from pension (other than disability pension). Those non-productive people are exempt from the obligation of contribution, if their spouse pays sufficient insurance premiums. In case of individuals who, within a minimum of 9 months per year do not work at least 50% professionally, a comparative cost calculation will be issued.
