Higher insured wage in case of accident from 2016

The maximum covered salary under UVG is increased by 1 January 2016. This also has an impact on the unemployment insurance.

The Federal Council has decided to increase the maximum covered salary under UVG (Accident Insurance Law) from currently CHF 126'000 to CHF 148'200.

With this step he ensures that the statutory requirement, at least 92% of all wages should be covered through mandatory UVG, is respected. The new maximum limit ensures a coverage of 95%.

This also has implications for unemployment insurance. The maximum insured salary is linked to the UVG maximum and is accordingly also increased.

This means that for wages in excess of CHF 126'000, more premiums for accident and unemployment insurance are owed from 2016, in return a little less for the ALVZ (solidarity percent). This applies both for the employee and for the employer contributions. Therefor a higher salary is insured, of which the insured can profit in the event of an accident or unemployment.

Remember timely to adapt any insurance in addition to UVG if necessary.
